Silly faces. Can you make them? Can you see one and not laugh?
Both of these guys make me laugh.
Aaron is the son of a friend and pretends he is shy. Really, he isn’t. He lives in the jungle of Pucallpa and actually seemed to enjoy when I took his picture. He lives in a wooden shack nearby the river bank and plays with all the other kids in the area.
Gelmer. Where can I even begin to share about Gelmer? He is from the jungle. Now he lives and works in Lima. One brother recently died in jail and he was the one to travel to pick up the body and transport it out to the jungle. Another brother of his was taken in and is being held on charges of “knowing” someone that deals with drug trafficking. His parents house was blown away in a storm in 2007. He is a good friend and I have enjoyed getting to know him over the last couple of years and even baked him homemade cookies for his birthday. What is he doing in this picture? We were filming a short video and he acted in the role of a beggar. What fun it was to rub shoe polish over his face & neck, dirt on his legs, dress him in old clothes and watch him try to remember all of his lines. I made him do it, he didn’t want to.
These faces are being submitted to I Heart Faces – Week Five: Silly contests for adults and children which are being judged this week by Heidi Lynn.

aaron es tan lindo! su mirada trajo una sonrisa a mi cara…
What FANTASTIC stories to go with the pictures!! Thanks for sharing them!
Your photographs are absolutely breathtaking! I love the emotion and the “silliness” you’ve captured with these shots. Incredible!
Your faces are why I really love people. I try to make up a story to go with the face but when I read your story, I’m so far off
Terrific faces again!
Oh, my, what a beautiful little boy, and I see that twinkle in his eye that lets everyone know he is not shy at all, lol.
What can I say about your adult pic, except I think you got a winner!!!
