Meme – Top Ten

I have always loved taking pictures, whether they be abstract, candid portraits or natural beauty. Food photography is something rather new and challenging for me. I am constantly impressed by other food bloggers with incredible photography skills.

Michelle from Culinography tagged me with a meme, one which does not require me to write anything about myself (I have a few of those still to do). This one allows me to look back through my posts to choose some of my favorite pictures. I have to admit, there were a bunch that I really liked, so I am only sharing the sweet ones. Maybe I will get tagged again and then I will share some of my favorite savory shots.

For now, enjoy these…

Arroz con Leche / Peruvian Rice Pudding
There are many versions of rice pudding, but I have never tasted one better than this!

Manjar de Garbanzos /
Sweet Hummus Spread

What? Sweet…Hummus? Yes, you heard me right! Use this with apple slices, pancakes, toast and so many other things!

Alfajores
Traditional shortbread cookies filled with manjar blanco or dulce de leche. These are one of my favorite desserts here in Peru!

Quinoa Flan
You think I am joking, but I’m not! This delicious dessert uses cooked quinoa to boost your protein. Second helpings are definitely allowed!

Mango Crisp
Fruit is something I should eat much more of, but I cannot seem to resist when it is baked under a crunchy blanket of goodness. Yum!

Quad Shot Brownie Cupcakes
These brownie cupcakes are a perfect caffeine boost – a delicious way to drink your coffee!

Coconut Banana Bread
This delicious banana bread is sprinkled with coconut and topped with a lime glaze. Maybe it is time to bake another loaf…I do have some perfect bananas!

Creamy Coconut Quinoa Pudding
How can you get a taste of the different regions of Peru? Use quinoa which comes from the Andes, coconut from the jungle and combine it to make arroz con leche, a typical criolla dessert.

Hot Cocoa Cupcakes
Although the recipe would have been easier had I had access to all the name brand box mixes, I tried to recreate a cup of hot chocolate in cupcake form, perfect for winter!

Peanut Manjar Balls
These are bite sized dessert made out of dulce de leche and rolled in chopped peanuts. You cannot stop at just one!
